Air Asia Launches Charity Program For Japan
KUALA LUMPUR - Sense of solidarity against Japanese citizens affected by the earthquake two months ago is still flowing from various circles. Not to forget, assistance has been provided by the airline AirAsia through the program To Japan with Love.
Campaign program was inaugurated by the AirAsia Group CEO and founder of AirAsia X, Dato Seri Tony Fernandes and the Minister and the Deputy Chief of Mission Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, Koichi Ito at The Gardens Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Tuesday (05/10/2011) .
"I do not doubt the resilience of Japanese society, to recover from this disaster, but recovery will be easier when all Asian nations are united," said Tony Fernandes.
In this event, besides Koichi Ito and Tony, a number of officials including the CEO of AirAsia Indonesia AirAsia, Dharmadi, CEO of Thai AirAsia Tassapon Bijlevald also seemed present.
To support this program, AirAsia also plans to sell 5000 special bracelet $ 10 Ringgit Malaysia or approximately Rp28 thousand (Rp2, 860 per Malaysian ringgit).
Funds raised will go to Japan. In addition, AirAsia will also make a charity called Medical Musicals, which will take place next June 18 at Sunway Lagoon.
Koichi Ito said the government of Japan, welcomed this assistance.
"Two months have passed after the earthquake. We had already begun to recover from disaster. Many countries sympathy over this tragedy, including Air Asia. We also touched upon this assistance. On behalf of the government and Japanese society, I say thank you, "she said.
