The Iranian government has arrested 30 people the United States spy. The suspects are known to have provided information to U.S. officials in embassies and consulates in third countries, including Malaysia, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
"Army Intelligence Ministry, in their confrontation with CIA agents have arrested 30 people who spy for America," state television reported, as reported by Reuters on Saturday (05/21/2011).
The announcement of the arrest was made two days after U.S. President Barack Obama's speech in the Middle East. In his speech, Obama said Iran sponsors terrorism and seeking nuclear weapons, but Iran denies the accusation.
Meanwhile, Iran has identified 42 U.S. intelligence officer in the 3 countries, saying that "they were involved in the collection of information about Iran's nuclear, air defense and bio-technology field."
Washington has no diplomatic representation in Iran since the Iranian revolution of 1979. Iran could be put to death those who spy on him.
