2011 : The 6 Sexiest She-Wolves Caught On Film

With the premiere of tekertin.com "Teen Wolf" howling just over the hill, we began thinking about our favorite sexy werewolves in pop culture. Not that many came to mind. There are plenty of lovely vampires, even an entire B-movie sub-genre for lesbian vampires, but not many she-wolves (and zero lesbian she-wolves on our radar). Maybe it's because a snarling, hairy beast isn't innately erotic--unless you're, like, into that. It's a very special actress who can become a shaggy monster with full moons without tainting her attractiveness in human form. And these fine, furry females are seven examples of that.

6. Nina Ash

There weren't many werewolves in the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" universe. It's just Nina Ash, played by Jenny Mollen, who is a recurring werewolf in the spin-off, "Angel,"  and Veruca, played by Paige Moss, who appeared in one episode of "Buffy." While Veruca is a rock singer/she-wolf/killer, we're only picking Nina since the former reminds us of too many crazy chicks we've dated. Mollen went on to marry Jason Biggs in 2008. Nerd couples must go crazy when the two are spotted in public.

5. Ginger Fitzgerald

 From the Canadian film trilogy "Ginger Snaps," "Ginger Snaps II: Unleashed" and "Ginger Snaps Back" comes actress Katharine Isabelle as main wolfess Ginger. She and her friend Brigitte (Emily Perkins) are obsessed with death and nearly experience it firsthand when attacked by a werewolf. A few days later, Ginger doesn't seem quite the same. Isabelle shot these teen werewolf flicks fresh out of high school and more than 10 years later, she's still landing in straight-to-video horror flicks like "30 Days Of Night: Dark Days."

4. Debbie Pelt

Last season of "True Blood" welcomed werewolves to the fold of supernatural beings around Bon Temps, Louisiana. Played by actress Brit Morgan, Debbie Pelts is the only she-wolf thus far--if you don't count were-panther (or is it she-panther?) Crystal Norris--but she's enough of a handful by herself. She's highly addicted to vampire blood, a drug in this world, but still manages to pull off a sultry tweeker vibe. While her wolf husband, Cooter, is dead, she'll definitely return in the upcoming season.

3. Leah Clearwater

Some of you are reading this simply for the "Twilight" part and here she is, Leah Clearwater. Played by Julia Jones, she's the only known female shape-shifter, but just as tough as the rest. The one difference seems to be when the other wolf-pack members transition to humans, they're topless. Unfortunately, Leah somehow manages to keep a ripped tank-top on.

2. Serafine Pigot

French actress Julie Delpy is known and beloved for her transatlantic crossover success "Before Sunrise," "Before Sunrise" and "But I'm A Cheerleader." She also did a little film called "American Werewolf in Paris," where she plays Serafine, a lady wolf who falls for an American tourist after he heroically saves her life via a bungee-jump off the Eiffel Tower. Yes, it's an outrageous beginning to a relationship, but this is a werewolf movie after all. Definitely catch this if you'd like to see Delpy topless, just be ready to also see her turn into a monster. Kind of a turnoff.

1. Shakira

This may be cheating, but Shakira has to be the sexiest she-wolf ever. We'll also finally admit that this article was just an excuse to embed the video for her song "She Wolf," as it has to be one of the top 10 hottest videos of the last decade. Shakira wearing next to nothing, writing around in a cage? C'mon! We are powerless against her.

* Laura Alden

Our bad! We (originally) forgot to include Michelle Pfeiffer's character from the 1994 movie "Wolf." It's just so hard to think of her as a canine after dreaming about her so long as Catwoman. Plus, you never really see her become a wolf...oops, spoiler alert. Don't worry, we just saved you from watching a 1994 movie with James Spader.
